Exploring Combined Influences of Seasonal East Atlantic (EA) and North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) on the Temperature-Precipitation Relationship in the Iberian Peninsula

The combined influence of the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and East (EA) patterns on covariability temperatures precipitation in 35 stations Iberian Peninsula during period 1950–2019 is analysed this work. Four EA-NAO composites were defined from teleconnection patterns’ positive negative phases: EA+NAO+, EA+NAO-, EA-NAO+ EA-NAO-. Daily data maximum minimum temperature used to obtain seasonal means (TX TN, respectively), these variables with accumulated rainfall (R) was studied comparing results obtained for different NAO EA composites. Main indicate slight differences spatial coverage correlation coefficients between R variables, except spring when generalised relationship TX under EA+NAO+ EA-NAO- disappears EA+NAO- This result may be useful interpret discuss historical reconstructions climate.
